FAQ
Is Aleta Collagen really kosher?
Yes. Aleta Collagen is certified OU Kosher Pareve — the most widely recognized and trusted kosher certification in the world. Our bovine and marine collagen are both sourced and processed in full compliance with Jewish dietary law under strict rabbinical supervision.
If bovine collagen comes from cows, how can it be Pareve?
This is the most common question we get. The OU's position, based on rulings by leading halachic authorities including Rav Moshe Feinstein z"l, is that hydrolyzed collagen derived from properly slaughtered and koshered cow hides is not only kosher but Pareve. This means it can be mixed with dairy — great news for adding to your morning coffee or smoothie.
What's the difference between your bovine and marine collagen?
Our bovine collagen is derived from the hides of kosher-slaughtered cattle and is also Kosher for Passover. Our marine collagen is derived from the scales of kosher fish (tilapia). Both are OU certified, but note that marine collagen is not Kosher for Passover.
Why do some collagen brands say "kosher" but aren't actually certified?
Many brands print "kosher" on their labels without holding certification from a recognized agency like the OU, OK, Star-K, or Kof-K. A lone "K" isn't a certification mark — anyone can print it. Aleta Collagen carries full OU Kosher Pareve certification, which you can verify on the OU website.
Can I use Aleta Collagen with dairy foods?
Yes! Because our collagen is certified Pareve, it can be used alongside dairy products. Add it to your coffee, yogurt, soup, or any dairy-based recipe without concern.
Does Aleta Collagen contain any allergens or fillers?
No. Our collagen is a single-ingredient product — pure hydrolyzed collagen with no fillers, dairy, whey, soy, gluten, or artificial additives. Always check the label for the specific product you're purchasing.
